3 May
Starts: 3 May 2019 at 12:00
Ends: 3 May 2019 at 15:00

Secondary School, Campus des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland

This workshop will look in detail at the two new DP maths pathways, Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Applications & Interpretation (AI), and will address the differences and similarities to the present syllabus, including structure, content, external assessment, internal assessment, delivery style and the role of technology. What happens to Mathematical Studies students? Most importantly, what is expected of you, the teacher and how best to share experiences and resources for the new syllabus?

Dr Ibrahim Wazir is a lead author of the new Pearson IB DP Maths series. He has more than 40 years of maths teaching experience at the American International School Vienna and as Professor at Webster University Vienna. Ibrahim is a former IB Chief Examiner for Further Mathematics and a former member of the Curriculum Committee of the IB. He is founder of the International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation (ISMTF) and inScholastics, an organisation that runs development workshops for teachers.

After this workshop you’ll have the chance to view Pearson’s resources for the international curriculum publishing for maths and sciences. We will be offering a light lunch and drinks. Participants will be eligible to receive sample copies of the forthcoming Pearson DP maths coursebooks.
