FREE WEBINAR: Multilingual students in the classroom: what every teacher needs to know

4 Apr
Starts: 4 Apr 2019 at 08:00
Ends: 4 Apr 2019 at 09:00

Online webinar, United Kingdom

A growing number of students in international schools speak a different language at home or in their communities.

What are the myths and realities of the multilingual learner (MLL)?

Join Eowyn Crisfield in a webinar where she explores the dual nature of learning language and content simultaneously. You will take away some simple ways to support your MLL students in the four areas of challenge:

- cognitive development,
- literacy,
- content learning,
- confident and socialisation.

Eowyn Crisfield is a Canadian-educated specialist in bilingualism, bilingualism in education, and teacher-training. Eowyn has over 20 years’ experience in the field of Applied Linguistics, and has a background that covers research, teaching and teacher-training, and supporting bilingual families. She is currently an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, lecturing on the Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching Multilingual Learners and the MA TESOL.

The webinar runs twice, at 8am and 3pm UK time.
